Its a boy!! (probably)

Charbel went to the doctor on Monday again and after the Doctor looked at the ultrasound for a little while he said that he is about 90% sure that our little baby is going to be a boy :) We are both very excited and happy. We are open to suggestions for names, so if anyone has any ideas just let us know! 

Now we are just waiting (still) for Charbel's interview appointment. For those who don't know, I'll explain everything that we have been going through with the consulate for the past few weeks.  Our paperwork arrived in Ciudad Juarez on January 29th. The Consulate's website states that after receiving our approved petitions they would process them and then send Charbel a package of information and an appointment notice. Well, after calling every week for about 4 weeks they told me that within two weeks they would have an interview date and that it would probably be for two weeks after they assign it. We figured 4 weeks wouldn't be too bad after waiting so long already. Well, two weeks passed and I called again and they told me that they had sent us a packet the week before and that we would need to fill out the forms and send it back before they could assign an appointment. 

Needless to say we were pretty disappointed about this new step that we had not been planning on. Well, we waited about a week and the packet never arrived (and still hasn't), so we got back in contact with Senator Bob Bennett's office and his Provo constituent liaison contacted Ciudad Juarez and they responded to her the next day. They  gave her the link to the papers that they had supposedly sent us and said that we could fill them out and fax them to them. This was a relief because we figured a fax is pretty reliable and that we would be having the paperwork processed pretty quickly. Another week passed and I called to get another update and they said they had not received it and some "not very nice" lady made me feel dumb for sending the information by fax because according to her "they never do it that way and the consular officer who wrote the senator must have been mistaken, and that we needed to send it through DHL directly to the consulate". I had my doubts about her ummm ... intelligence? But she scared me enough that I decided to put the package together and run it over to the package sending place at BYU to send it through DHL. I also contacted the Senator's office again to see if they could get a better answer. They did. Today they emailed her back and said, "We did not receive the fax (How?????) but in order to get it to us faster, you may attach scanned copies of the forms and send them by email by responding to this letter, and then we can forward it to the Visa Immigrant Section. So we did, and hopefully they have it by now. The package I sent through DHL also got there today - I tracked it the whole way and it has the name of the man who signed for it at the consulate, so they besn't be saying that they didn't receive it this time!! 

So, although we still don't know when the interview will be, or if they will give us some other pointless step to do, we do feel like it is at least getting close. Thanks everyone for your support and love throughout this whole process. It is hard, but it is a lot easier knowing that we have such great friends and family to support us in this difficult time.

Charbel is doing well in her pregnancy and hasn't had much sickness for the past few weeks, so we are hoping that she stays healthy and that we can get her hear as soon as possible! Here is an updated "belly picture" of Charbel and also the most recent ultrasound pictures.
